Research Center of Social Justice and Governance at Jilin University

The Research Center of Social Justice and Governance at Jilin University is the key research base of humanities and social sciences in Jilin Province. Its predecessor is the teaching and researchsection of political science established in 1981 by the famous Chinese political scientist and jurist, Professor Huiyan Wang. After years of development, the center was officially renamed the Research Center of Social Justice and Governance at Jilin University. The center consists of four research institutes involving four research areas, including social justice and governance innovation, the measurement and evaluation of social equity and justice in contemporary China, the comparison of social justice and governance from the perspective of globalization, and the equalization of basic public service of contemporary China. Focusing on the research areas, the center conducts interdisciplinary, multi-perspective, triangulated and comprehensive studies. The current director is Professor Guanghui Zhou, who is the vice president of Chinese Association of Political Science, the Yangtze River Scholar Distinguished Professor, and the doctoral advisor in School of Public Administration at Jilin University. The center has gathered 33 full-time and part-time researchers, including 26 professors, 6 associate professors, and 1 assistant professor. The center aims to be selected into the key research bases of humanities and social sciences under Ministry of Education. Based on this, through long-term development, the center strives to become a domestic leading and international influential academic research center, a personnel training center, an academic exchange center, and a policy advisory and informationservice center.
